Mount Calvary Baptist Church
Mount Calvary Baptist Church is a southern Baptist church located in Valdese, NC at the crest of the hill on Praley St. Here at Mount Calvary, we strive to live out the Biblical command to love God, each other and our neighbors well. This means worshiping and following Jesus Christ not only through our words, but also through the lives we lead.
What We Believe
Experience God
At Mount Calvary, we believe that God is continuing to speak to His people through His Word, His Spirit, and spiritual leaders within the Body of Christ. We can truly experience God in a very real way that transforms our lives from the inside out. Our prayer is that you also would experience the real Jesus Christ when you enter through the doors of Mount Calvary, not because of our name, but because of His.
Equip For Ministry
At Mount Calvary, we believe we are called to effectively equip those God has called unto Himself through discipleship, evangelistic training, and spiritual guidance. Jesus has called us all to be a witness for Him and take the Gospel to the broken world around us. Our aim is to send our leaders and difference makers to answer that call and disciple others that they would come to saving knowledge of Jesus.
Enjoy One Another
At Mount Calvary, we believe that God has given us one another to enjoy life with through opportunities of fellowship. We seek to enjoy one another through being intentional in our relationships and gatherings. We enjoy one another through church-wide and community events, potluck meals, Sunday morning fellowship time, and our Life Groups.
Engage All
At Mount Calvary, we believe that we are on a hilltop not to make our name known, but to make the name of Jesus known in our community. In Matthew 5, scripture tells us that, "A city on a hill cannot be hidden." We want to be a visible representation of the saving work of Jesus. We seek to engage one another and those around us in the community in a way that amplifies the light of Christ.
